The Bridge Magazine
The aim of The Bridge is to forge community links across the five villages which share one vicar, to provide a vehicle for public service information and to highlight events of general interest. We also aim to deepen our spiritual commitment and to increase our awareness of current social issues.
The magazine comes out monthly and is edited, produced and distributed by members of the local churches and goes to about 500 homes in the district. Many of our subscribers are not churchgoers.
It is a lively publication, advertising all manner of events such as "Volcano Night", quizzes, coffee mornings, variety concerts and art shows. Local organisations, the parish councils and schools all contribute items of news from time to time as well as our readership sending in material. There are interesting articles as well as cartoons and "Smile Lines".
The magazine is intended to be self-financing and is underwritten by the combined parishes. Any profits are distributed back to the parishes in proportion to the readership.
